If you would like to learn to design your own graphics, a really good program is JASC’s Paint Shop Pro. You can download a fully working version on their website to try out. They also have links to a great many websites which give you step-by-step directions for making your own graphics using their program. It makes it really easy!
You can see the first site I have done commercially for the Chalet Moosehead Motel on Moosehead Lake in Maine. It’s pretty exciting to design your first website for someone else. I’m not really happy with the photographs on the “Seasons” page, I originally only put them on to give her an idea of what that page could look like with photographs, and I didn’t size them or clean them up much, (my scanner is worn out and makes yellow lines on the scans), but she liked it so well, she used it before I fixed it. The photos were supposed to be of the four seasons, and she was going to send them to me. Instead they are just the samples I stuck on there.
WEB TV USERS
Web TV Users have to use a different system for uploading their graphics to their server. You should never directly link to anyone’s graphics, because a lot of designers have to pay extra money every time someone views your pages. This is because everytime an image is loaded on your site, it uses their “bandwidth”.
If you don’t know how to upload graphics to your server, Susan (Dakota) has a wonderful page with links to all the information you will ever need, as well as links to help forums for web TV users.
